Differences between FUE Hair Transplant and DHI Hair Transplant

DHI and FUE hair transplantation methods have an international reputation in hair transplantation procedures.  Both of these methods draw attention with their strong results.  They are methods that provide solutions to the baldness problems in certain areas of the scalp of people who experience intense hair loss, either due to environmental factors or genetically.  People with baldness in any part of their scalp can achieve both permanent and natural hair appearance by choosing one of these two methods.

 DHI Hair Transplant

Hair transplantation with the DHI method is a microsurgical procedure that can be defined as either Direct Hair Implantation or a direct hair transplantation method.  There are some steps in this type of hair transplantation method.  In the DHI hair transplantation method, the patient must first undergo the necessary blood tests.  This is the first step of the hair transplant method.  After this test, only hair transplantation can be made ready.  Afterwards, the doctor who will do the planting will start the graft collection process on the area determined for hair transplantation.  The collection process can take about three or four hours.

The grafts collected from the determined area are protected in a special solution.  For the sowing process, they are placed one by one in a medical material called Choi Implanter Pen.  This pen, which has a micro needle on its tip, can open a channel on its value thanks to this needle it contains.  It is a special medical device suitable for this technique.

At the end of the process of placing the collected roots, called grafts, into the pen, both the canal is opened and the graft roots in the pen are placed in this opened canal by the physician using the pen in a single step.  Since all the work is done in one move, no additional grooving procedure is expected.  There is no need for this and thus the hair transplantation process is realized.

FUE Hair Transplant

It stands for Follicular Unit Extraction.  It is a method that has been used in Turkey since the beginning of the 2000s.  The success in hair transplantation is quite high.  The fact that it is extremely modern and at the same time has a high success rate makes this technique stand out.  FUE hair transplantation method starts with positive results of blood tests.  After the tests are positive, hair transplantation is started.  First of all, what the physician should do is to mark the areas where hair will be transplanted.  In addition, according to the areas to be transplanted, a graft calculation is required.  Afterwards, it is important to determine the steps to collect the necessary grafts in this direction.

After all these procedures are completed, the physician begins to collect the grafts.  The nape root is generally preferred for graft collection.  The reason for this is that the hairs on the nape are both in structure and in the way they grow, and they are hairs that are very similar to natural hair.  The grafts collected from the relevant area are kept in a special solution after the collection process.  This special solution liquid is either hyposol or cold isotonic liquids.  Some clinics prefer to use special solutions called Ice Graft Solution.

The physician will immediately begin the process of opening the canal in order to minimize the waiting time of the grafts.  The physician’s ability to open the canal with the FUE hair transplantation method can only be revealed by using the devices provided with micro motors or manual punches.  After the opening of the canal, the grafts are transplanted one by one.

 Differences Between DHI Hair Transplant and FUE Hair Transplant

There are some fundamental differences between the DHI hair transplant method and the FUE hair transplant method.  The most important of these technical fundamental differences is the use of a medical device that requires extra expertise.  In addition, the DHI hair transplant method is slightly more expensive than the FUE hair transplant method.  Also, the process takes longer.

In the DHI technique, hair transplantation can be done without shaving.  FUE technique, on the other hand, cannot be applied without shaving.  DHI hair transplantation technique is very slow.  1500 grafts can only be transplanted in one session.  In the FUE method, the number of 4500 is reached.  While direct grooving is performed in the DHI method, grooving is expected in the FUE method.  In addition, in the DHI method, dense planting is performed in a narrow area, while the FUE method can be applied to larger areas on the scalp.
